Replace references is a very useful Document creation tool to use when you are trying to generate a Document for individual parties that are entered on the same card.

Getting Started

This feature is for use with Documents only and cannot be used with letters or correspondence.  Any Matter that has multiple parties for any Contact can use Replace References.




How to use Replace References

1.    Generate a Document from the Precedents Library. 

Tip:  Some documents may only generate for the first party on the contact card.


2.    Select party the document is to be generated for and click OK.


3.    Select Save & Close from the left corner of the ribbon bar and then select Save As.

Tip:  We recommend saving the document with the name of Party 1 so that it can be easily identified from the Documents section of your matter.


4.    Select Save.


5.    Click on the arrows on the triConvey Toolbar to expand the toolbar.


6.    Scroll down and select Replace references.


7.    Select what information you want to "replace" from the Replace drop-down menu.


8.    Select what information you want to replace the information "with" from the With drop-down menu.

Tip:  Use the "+" or "-" to change with a party/contact.  All fields will be updated in the document.


9.    Repeat step 3 as many times as required.
