If signature automation is already set up and needs changing, automation becomes a process of identifying and emulating the setup with new information.

Editing signatures based on Person Responsible or other data fields
For signatures with a current setup based on Person Responsible or other data fields:
1. Click the If/Then/Else tab from the triConvey toolbar.
2. Place your cursor below the letter sign-off (for example, "Yours Sincerely").
3. Select Ask from the If dropdown menu in the toolbar.
4. Select the newly created signature Ask from the list.
5. Select Equal from the Is dropdown menu in the toolbar.
6. In the Equal field, type a choice from the Ask (case sensitive).
Tip: This action satisfies the If condition of the If/Then/Else statement.
7. Select Insert. The If/Then/Else statement appears in the container.
8. Replace the word True in the statement with the signature image file(s) relevant to the choice and name/role information.
Tip: This action satisfies the Then condition of the statement.
changes to:
This statement says that if HR gets selected in the Ask, Hayley's signature automates on the letter. If HR is not selected, the word False automates on the letter.
9. Remove the word False and leave the cursor between the <<ELSE>> and <<END IF>> tags.
10. Repeat from step 6 for each choice in the Ask.
Tip: Remove the word False from the final choice's statement.
11. Before saving the container, place the cursor in front of the <<Body Content>> tag. This allows the cursor to go straight to the correct location when generating letters in a matter file.
12. Save & Close the container.
13. Repeat the process for each relevant document container.
14. Test the automation by generating test letters in a matter file.
Editing signatures based on an Ask
For signatures with a current setup based on an Ask:
1. Add the new choice to the Ask Automation:
- Right-click the existing Ask from the triConvey toolbar.
- Select Edit.
- Add the new options and click Save.
2. To account for the new choice (case-sensitive) in the If/Then/Else statement, remove the word False and leave the cursor between the <<ELSE>> and <<END IF>> tags.
3. Before saving the container, place the cursor in front of the <<Body Content>> tag. This allows the cursor to go straight to the correct location when generating letters in a matter file.
4. Save & Close the container.
5. Repeat the process for each relevant document container.
6. Test the automation by generating test letters in a matter file.
